What you might not know about PRP!

You might be surprised to know where our latest premium cosmetic service, Platelet Rich Plasma actually originated from! Your first thought might be Miss Kim Kardashian’s gruesome Vampire Facial, but it is actually commonly known for treating sporting injuries! Sporting stars such as Tiger Woods and US gridiron stars have had PRP treatments!

Platelet Rich Plasma injections (PRP) can be used in the treatment of many musculoskeletal injuries including that of tendons, muscles and joints. The treatment is used to help speed the healing process of these injuries. The healing agents in the PRP is injected into the injured area which in turn, will speed tissue recovery, new blood vessel formation, bone regeneration and wound healing.

Most recently, The Sutherland Shire Leader, reported that Sharks player, Todd Carney took advantage of PRP therapy to heal his troubled hamstring. The Sharks strength and conditioning trainer even swears by PRP for his players, claiming it is one of “the better treatments” for fast relief and healing of sporting injuries!

As you all know, not only is PRP fantastic for healing sporting injuries, but for the rejuvenation and anti-ageing of the skin, particularly on the face! Apart from assisting blood clotting, platelets also release growth factors that assist the human body to repair itself by stimulating cells to regenerate new tissue. PRP can easily be separated from blood; through a process of centrifugation… using your enriched plasma permits the body to heal faster and more efficiently! Perfect for an overall rejuvenation of the skin including improved skin texture and/or tone!
