Have you ever wondered why your break out on certain areas of your face? Well we recently read a blog about face mapping, which details why you break out on certain areas of your face! The image below divides the face into numbered zones. Check out the corresponding points and learn more about how your inside can affect your outside!
Zones 1 and 3 – The Digestive System
If you are finding yourself breaking out across your forehead, it may be due to high amounts of fat within your diet! Avoid processed, oily and greasy foods and cleanse your diet with green tea and plenty of water. You will notice a huge improvement in congestion within just a few days!
Zone 2 - Liver
Breaking out in between your eyebrows and around the top of your nose is usually due to high levels of alcohol or dairy in your diet. This affects the functions of your liver and therefore can cause blemishes and congestions in this area. This zone can also be related to food allergies so it is best to consult your doctor!
Zones 4, 6, 8 and 10 – Kidneys
Blemishes around your ears and dark circles under your eyes are often cause by dehydration. Keep well hydrated by drinking at least 1 to 2 Litres of water a day and avoid caffeinated drinks! For more on the benefits of H20 check out our recent blog! (insert link)
Zone 7 – Heart
The tip of the nose is often related to the healthy of your heart! Try to reduce high blood pressure, replace ‘bad’ fats with fruit, veg, nuts and white meats. If you are concerned about any heart-related issues, make sure you consult your doctor.
Zones 5 and 9 – Respiratory System
If you’re a smoker, you may find that you are more prone to acne along the top of your cheeks! Exercise and fresh air is a great solution for these types of breakouts J
Zones 11 and 13 – Hormones
In women especially, this zone is a key signal of stress and hormonal imbalance… particularly around that time of the month! Try to reduce stress by eating clean, wholesome food and regular exercise!
Zone 12 – Stomach
If you have been indulging in rich, heavy, sugary and fatty foods, then you will notice breakouts in this area! Try detoxing or adding foods with high fibre to help regulate your digestive system.
Zone 14 – Illness
Blemishes in this area can indicate that your body is trying to fight off bacteria or an infection. Rest up and drink plenty of water… listen to your body and give yourself some quiet time to relax!
