Glycolic and Lactic Peel

Glycolic and Lactic acid is an Alpha-Hydroxy Acid (AHA) which loosens thickened surface layers that appear as dry, rough and scaly skin. Glycolic and Lactic Peels are used to treat mild sun damage, pigmentation and loss of elasticity.

Jessner or TCA Peel

Jessner or TCA Peels remove congested sebum and dead skin cells. Depending on the degree of concern, the level of treatment intensity can be increased by layering the peel application.

The Blueberry Smoothie Peel is a deliciously refreshing scrub that invigorates the skin with the use of a gentle acid to clear away the look of imperfections. Active blueberry extracts exfoliate the skin to restore a youthful-looking glow.

What are Chemical Peels?

A chemical agent is applied to the skin to deeply exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin surface and texture. Peels loosen the uppermost layers of the skin to remove dead skin and to stimulate collagen production. Chemical Peels are quick, non-invasive treatments taking approximately 10 to 20 minutes.

Are treatments painful?

Treatments are not painful, however you will likely experience a tingling, itching sensation for a few minutes when the peel is applied. If a stronger solution is applied a slight stinging and hot skin sensation may be experienced. Our Dermal Therapists cater to you, ensuring the treatment is as comfortable as possible.

Post treatment care

Skin peels do not require down time and clients are free to return to normal activities immediately post treatment. If possible we recommend avoiding make-up for approximately 3 hours post treatment, to ensure a skin irritation is not experienced.

After the peel it may result in your skin initially feeling tight and dry. As skin continues to tighten dead skin cells will appear darker and/or red and raised. Between 3 to 5 days’ post treatment skin may shed or flake.

In rare cases, some clients may experience redness after the peel (especially if prone to sensitive skin or those who have had the peel applied for a longer duration).

Avoid the use of moisturisers or lotions that contain active ingredients such as retinol, glycolic acids, perfumes and colours until your skin is no longer sensitive.

To assist in the post peel process, we recommend continual hydration of the skin, no sun exposure or aggressive exercise, using prescribed cosmeceutical skin care and to continue to use SPF 30+ sunscreen daily for optimal results.
