Oily Skin:
What is Oily skin?
Oily skin is usually caused by oil producing sebaceous glands that are overactive and produce more oil than is needed. When the skin produces excessive sebum, it becomes heavy and thick in texture. Oily skin is typified by shininess, blemishes and pimples; however having oily skin is not necessarily that bad, as the skin is less prone to aging with the oil helping to keep needed moisture locked into the epidermis (outermost layer of skin). In saying this, the negative aspect of oily skin is that oily complexions are especially susceptible to clogged pores, blackheads, and a build up of dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. Oily skin can be sallow and rough in texture and tends to have large, clearly visible pores everywhere, except around the eyes and neck.
