Treatment packages are valid for up to 20 months, and your hair removal sessions are spread out according to your response.
We’ll never ask a client to return for treatment before their hair is ready to be treated. For example, many clinics ask their clients to return 4 weeks apart for their bikini, legs, back or chest.
Clinical guidelines recommend intervals of 6 to 10 weeks apart. We take this into consideration and more, ensuring you receive the best value for your money.
We guarantee you, and all our laser hair removal male and female clients that we will never compromise our professional commitment to laser hair removal best practice. This means, that your treatment will be tailored according to your personal lifestyle, medical history, skin and hair type as well as your individual response to laser hair removal treatments.
We do not have a production line approach to laser hair treatments as every client is unique. Not all hair is suitable to be treated, or should be treated in short intervals. In fact, some hair can be stimulated to grow further, hence why it’s important to seek an accredited Laser Operator who is trained in understanding hair growth cycles, skin types/ conditions and using medical grade laser apparatus settings and functions to achieve optimal and safe results.
We treat all skin and hair types.
Our clinical expertise, professional and honest advice makes The Laser Lounge the ‘must-go-to’ laser hair removal destination!

More about laser hair removal
Permanent hair removal is an extremely simple procedure which will stunt and reduce hair growth within the hair follicle. As this procedure stops future hair growth it is a long term solution for people who are seeking smooth, hair-free skin in a particular area.
The medical-grade lasers penetrate the hair follicle and disables both the blood supply and root that usually aids hair regeneration. It’s important to note that this treatment will not affect surrounding area. As the hair follicles contain melanin (the element that makes hair coloured), our lasers are able to safely target them only. Our equipment features a patented cooling device which ensures a safe, comfortable experience for our clients.
There are a number of different types of lasers used for the same purpose, to reduce unwanted hair. For laser hair removal the most common names you hear are; IPL laser, Alexandrite laser, Yag laser and Diode laser. At The Laser Lounge we are not biased on which laser machine works best, but as a result of our expertise, and depending on your lifestyle, skin and hair colour, we will select a medical grade laser apparatus that best suits you, enabling us to achieve optimal results.
To clarify, IPL laser devices are not actually lasers. In comparison to a laser, Intense Pulse Light is NOT monochromatic, meaning that IPL has many different colours and only a small percentage of these colours are effective in the treatment of hair reduction. Compared to laser, IPL is less effective in the treatment of hair reduction.
We recommend our Alexandrite lasers for lighter skin / darker hair clients in order to achieve great laser hair removal results. How the Alexandrite laser works is the laser light pulse targets the hair follicle causing the hair to fall out and minimising further growth. This laser is ineffective for light coloured hair, but effective for treating dark hair in patients of Fitzpatrick types I to III. This laser can easily differentiate between hair and skin colour. It is when the skin and hair colour are almost the same that complications may occur. We do not recommend using the Alexandrite if you have tanned or dark skin.
Nd Yag Laser
The Nd Yag laser is best used at The Laser Lounge for treating clients who have tanned or darker hair and darker skin, along with spider veins. In saying this, we do not recommend having a laser hair removal treatment if you’re freshly tanned. Please note, our Skin and Laser Technicians will advise you whether you’re suitable to be treated post tanning. As a duty of care if we feel you are not suitable to be treated, we will not laser your skin and advise an alternate time to return for treatment. This laser works differently to an Alexandrite, and has been designed to specifically differentiate between dark skin and dark hair colour and minimize any risks to the skin.
The Diode laser is used for light to olive skin clients, and targets the pigment located in the hair follicle and shaft. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle and this energy is converted to heat which results in damage to the hair follicle. This damage causes delayed re-growth of hair and, in most cases, permanent destruction of many of the hair follicles. The Diode laser is mainly used for skin types I – III, but it can be used for other types of skin also. This laser provides deeper penetration into the skin layer compared to the Alexandrite and Nd Yag, and as a result of the technology design, can treat larger areas much faster.
At The Laser Lounge we are the skin and hair reduction experts! In order to give you the best and most honest advice we offer all clients a complimentary consultation. This personalised approach allows our team to analyse your skin condition, hair colour, hair thickness, amount of hair and medical history, to name a few. This consultation will allow your therapist to create a tailored treatment plan, and advise you if and what area/s are suitable for laser hair reduction treatments.
Treatment intervals vary depending on the treated area due to cycle of hair growth. As a general guide manufacturer guideline recommend 4 to 6 weeks for the facial areas, 6 to 8 weeks for Underarms / Brazilian/ Chest and Arms and 8 to 10 weeks for Back and Legs. Receiving treatments any sooner will reduce the effectiveness of the treatment as the hair cycle will not be in the correct stage, so less effective. In these cases, the results will be comparative to waxing or shaving. At the Laser Lounge, we have found due to our personalised approach to laser hair reduction our treatments are completed on average between 6 to 12 weeks apart on major body areas.
The larger the area the longer the time it will take to complete the treatment. At The Laser Lounge we pride ourselves on being thorough to ensure accuracy. Clinical guidelines recommend approximately 15 to 20 minutes for a thorough Brazilian / Underarm treatment and about 45 to 60 minutes for major areas such as Full Legs.
Laser hair reduction has not been proven to be safe/ unsafe during pregnancy and/or breastfeeding. To date, no clinical studies have been conducted on the subject and as a result The Laser Lounge do not treat clients that are pregnant and/or breast feeding. As a duty of care to our clients, we only treat clients based on manufacturer and clinical guidelines. Although laser hair reduction treatments only penetrate deep enough to target the root of hair follicles, side effects for the mother and/or unborn child have not been studied. If you become pregnant during a course of treatments at The Laser Lounge please advise your choice clinic and they will advise you the best steps to take. As part of best practise, client accounts will be placed on hold until they are best recommended to return to their treatments.
You may receive cooling options pre and during treatment. After your treatment your Skin and Laser Technician will apply a post laser relief spray to help soothe the area.
The Laser Lounge only employs the use of medical grade, industry-leading technologies. All equipment is FDA and TGA approved.
All services are administered by a qualified, highly experienced laser technician. Our team of experts ensure each client receives a friendly first-class experience during each visit. We pride ourselves on being one of few affordable, competitively priced, qualified clinics in the country. Permanent hair removal is our speciality. Why would you trust anyone else?
The amount of required treatments will vary from person to person. For the best results, we typically recommend eight to ten treatments depending on the area of the body treated. This will ensure that all hairs are effectively interrupted and immobilised during the active growth phase of the growth cycle.
Clients often notice quicker results on some areas, such as the legs, bikini, underarms, chest, and upper arms. Some areas, such as the back or face may require further treatments.
Once a course of treatments has been completed, we often recommend maintenance treatments to be administered one to three times per year.
Our Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide clinics all offer laser hair removal.
Your experienced laser technician will give you all of the pre and post treatment instructions that you require. They are there to answer any questions you might have about caring for the area following treatment. Typically, once any redness has subsided, you will be free to resume standard activities. We recommend treating the area with the same level of care you would a mild sunburn.
