i Lipo Laser Fat Reduction - The Laser Lounge:

How does i-Lipo laser fat reduction work?

Laser Fat Reduction works by emitting low levels of laser energy; the fat cell membranes are disrupted releasing intra-cellular fat. This causes the cell to lose its round shape by changing the permeability of the cell membrane. This does not affect the neighbouring structures such as skin, blood vessels, and peripheral nerves. Triglycerides, which are the fats that are found in your blood, spill out from the broken cell membranes and are released into the interstitial space, where they are slowly transported through the body’s natural metabolic functions. Light exercise is required post treatment to accelerate the breakdown and removal of fat from the area.

Is i-Lipo laser fat reduction safe?

When combining medically graded and FDA approved laser technologies with qualified Skin and Laser Specialists, laser fat reduction is very safe. Our Skin and Laser Specialist team are experts, offering extensive para-medical beauty experience. Why go anywhere else when we specialise in laser treatments using premium technologies?

Our laser fat reduction technology is the only skin contact low level laser system to be clinically proven and FDA approved. Independent clinical studies have shown our laser to be completely safe with no side effects. The laser simply triggers a natural reaction of fat cell release. The process does not cause any damage, and cells remain intact, just smaller, giving immediate results. It can be used on all skin types and body areas and you can return to normal activity immediately after a treatment. Most people feel very little during the treatment and find it quite comfortable and relaxing. The typical sensation felt is slight warmth where the treatment pads are in contact with your skin.

Why do I need a consultation?

Consultations are conducted with clients before the treatment to:

  • Assess if the Laser Fat Reduction treatment is appropriate for you
  • Explain the laser process
  • Advise pre and post treatment care instructions
  • Advise the cost of treatment

Are i-Lipo laser fat reduction treatments painful?

Tolerance levels vary for all. In most cases clients will say that they feel no pain, just a slight warm sensation on the skin when having contact with the laser pads. During the vacuum massage you will feel a suction sensation which can tickle. Our laser fat reduction technology is the latest technology in laser lipolysis, offering clients a way to achieve centimetre loss and body contouring with minimal discomfort, no needles and no down time!

How should I prepare before my treatment?

To minimise the possibility of adverse skin effects we recommend avoiding:

  • Excessive sun exposure (apply SPF 30 + sunscreen daily)
  • Solariums
  • Topical fake tans
  • Prescription strength exfoliants
  • Avoid eating heavy meals and/or fasting
  • Avoid drinking coffee, tea, alcohol and/or carbonated drinks that may cause bloating
  • Commit to post treatment exercise
  • Wear comfortable clothing (suggested black underwear)
  • Confirm with your General Practitioner that no medical concerns will affect treatment outcome

Are there any post treatment restrictions?

Your Skin and Laser Specialist will advise you post treatment care instructions during your treatment. In most cases, clients will resume normal activities immediately after.

Please avoid the following activities in between and post treatments (to avoid adverse skin effects):

  • Excessive sun exposure (apply SPF 30 + sunscreen daily on areas being treated)
  • Solariums (cover all areas being treated)
  • Complete 30mins of fat burning exercise between 2 to 24 hours post treatment
  • Commit to a lifestyle of healthy eating and ongoing exercise
  • Drink plenty of fluids (water)

Is i-Lipo laser fat reduction permanent?

When qualified and highly trained Skin and Laser Specialists perform treatments, such as the team at The Laser Lounge, laser fat reduction is very effective.

During each session, clients can expect to lose between 200 to 400 calories on their target area (equivalent to30 to 45 mins of fat burning exercise) and that circumferential fat loss is highly achievable.

Non-responders are primarily limited to those who experience thyroid dysfunction, anti-inflammatory disorders and/or persons who have other medical conditions that continually work against the laser technology.

We highly recommend for you to come in for a FREE consultation so we can assess whether this laser treatment is suitable for you.

NB. Once fat is reduced – calories will only return if calories in – exceed calories out

How do I know if i-Lipo laser fat reduction treatments are working for me?

Independent clinical studies have shown laser fat reduction to be, in some case, comparable to results achieved by liposuction. Ultrasound imagery shows up to 30% reduction in the fat layer depth after just one treatment, which means you will see your results immediately as the fat cell contents are released! Clients can achieve up to 2 to 4 cm loss in circumference with each treatment.

Our clients are continually experiencing great results and value for money at The Laser Lounge!

How many treatments will I need?

Results can be seen immediately after your first treatment; however, a course of 8 treatments is recommended over a 4 week period for optimal results on your target area (2 treatments per week). The number of treatments required to achieve your goals can be determined at your consultation. However, client’s commitment and dedication to achieving their goals pre and post treatment plays a major factor in further treatments being conducted. In other words, healthy eating and exercise is paramount to the treatments overall success.

Why is exercise required after an i-Lipo laser fat reduction treatment?

Exercise creates a demand in our bodies for extra energy. Normally, the body responds to this demand by releasing stored fat content to be used as fuel. This release can be from any stored fat content around the body. Through the use of low level lasers, laser fat reduction mimics the body’s natural fat burning process, allowing clients to target an area of their body for fat release even before exercise. Exercising after a laser fat reduction treatment will accelerate the “burning” of fat content that is transported around the body.

NB. Once fat is reduced – calories will only return if calories in – exceed calories out

How long is each treatment?

Laser fat reduction and cellulite reduction treatments take only 20 minutes! The recommended time of exercise post treatment is 30 minutes; however this can vary depending on the individual client’s case. The length of time for your post-treatment exercise to “burn-off” the free fatty acids is determined at your consultation and is based on your target area, requirements and goals.

How do I know when to come in for my next treatment?

On average we recommend treating the target area 8 times during a 4 week period. Your Skin and Laser Specialist will assess your individual progress throughout your treatment course, recommending the best time to return for your follow up treatment. If you are uncertain, please feel free to ask our team.

How much are i-Lipo laser fat reduction treatments?

Compared to surgical liposuction and other ultrasound or laser fat reduction technologies, laser fat reduction is much more affordable whilst achieving similar results. Your qualified skin and laser specialist can recommend a treatment course that is best suited to your goals and requirements through the consultation process.

Are there any risks or side effects? Will my medication affect my treatment?

Certain medications may affect your skin during treatment if they are photosensitive (such as Roaccutane and Retin A which can cause pigmentation). If you are taking any medications that cause bloating it is best to advise your Skin and Laser Specialist so that we can ensure the best possible treatment results for you.

Will i-Lipo laser fat reduction work if I have a hormonal condition?

There are several hormonal conditions, which can affect the way in which a patient responds to laser fat reduction treatments.

Most specifically:

Menopause

Menopause is the natural transition out of childbearing years in which fertility decreases and the levels of hormones are changing. During the menopause years, the amount of female hormones (oestrogen and progesterone) fluctuates. There is no escaping menopause and its effects, so when performing laser fat reduction treatments we must consider the early effects of hormonal fluctuations that may already be working against us in fat reduction. The closer a patient is to menopause, the more likely they will find it harder to respond to laser fat reduction treatments. However, there are specific lifestyle choices and treatment plans that can be recommended and prescribed in order to achieve the best possible results!

Thyroid Disorders

The Thyroid gland is a small butterfly shaped structure located just below the Adams Apple in the throat. The Thyroid is intimately connected to the metabolism of the body, therefore disorders affecting this organ must be considered before embarking on a laser fat reduction treatment course.

Common symptoms of Thyroid disorders include:

  • Fatigue or lack of energy
  • Weight gain
  • Dry skin and hair
  • Heavy menstrual periods
  • Constipation
  • Slowed thinking

Patients with an underactive thyroid, whose hormone levels have been stabilised and are well maintained with their thyroid replacement medication, should respond normally to laser fat reduction treatments so long as they are complying to the diet and exercise program advised to them! These clients should only consider laser fat reduction treatments once they have seeked medical guidance and have a clear understanding of their condition.

Pregnancy

While there is no research to suggest that low-level laser therapy could interfere with the foetus development during pregnancy, there is also no research to confirm that it would not, since research during pregnancy is unethical. If the possibility of pregnancy is determined during consultation, then it is recommended not to undergo laser fat reduction treatments as the changes within the body at this time would typically make it unlikely to achieve outstanding fat reduction results. Also, general medical advice would suggest that new mothers should not consider attempting weight reduction for at least 6 weeks post-partum or until the baby is at least 2 months old for breast-feeding mothers.

What’s the difference between i-Lipo laser fat reduction and alternate cellulite and fat reduction technologies?

There are many differences between laser fat reduction and other cellulite and fat reduction technologies, the main difference being that our laser fat reduction technology is a targeted form of fat reduction, meaning it can mark specific areas of concern. By positioning the laser pads directly on the regions of concern, our laser fat reduction technology can target areas such as the chin, upper arms, abdomen or thighs. This means fat can be broken down and removed from almost every body part where there are specific concerns. The biggest advantage to laser fat reduction is that there is zero down time for patients; you are actually encouraged to exercise immediately after your treatment to speed up the lymphatic drainage process! This is also a great advantage over diet and exercise alone, as laser fat reduction has the ability to shape and contour individual areas with its innovative design.
